I CAN TRACE YOUR SCOTTISH ROOTS AND FIND YOUR SCOTTISH ANCESTORS
Do you want to find out about your Scottish ancestors, where they came from and what they did for a living? Do you want to learn more about your Scottish heritage? My name is Margaret Hubble and I can assist you with your search.

Genealogy has become increasingly popular, but many individuals do not have either the time or the necessary skills to carry out research themselves.
You can feel confident in using my services as a professional Scottish genealogist to assist you with tracing your Scottish family tree. As a member of ASGRA - the Association of Scottish Genealogists and Researchers in Archives - I have proven my competency by completing assessments to ensure that I am proficient in all aspects of genealogy. ASGRA members must adhere to a strict Code of Practice.

Research can be carried out for ALL AREAS IN SCOTLAND.
SCOTTISH FAMILY TREES AND SCOTTISH FAMILY HISTORY RESEARCH
I am based near Edinburgh, home of the National Records of Scotland (amalgamation of National Archives of Scotland and General Register Office for Scotland), and I will provide a professional and friendly service. I am an ASGRA council member. I am also a West Lothian Family History Society council member, where I am the research co-ordinator and the editor of the Oak Tree, the society's journal.
I have compiled course material for classes in "Tracing Your Scottish Family Tree" and have taught local classes.
I am a member of the Scottish Genealogical Society in Edinburgh and, as such, have access to their various resources.
I am the author of a privately printed book describing a family who owned coal mines in Ayrshire and Lanarkshire, which is entitled "Coalmasters and their Connections" - based on the Ferguson family. It has been particularly interesting to research this family, as much of the research I have undertaken in the past has been into families whose ancesters were the coal miners themselves. This book may be useful to the family historian in general terms, as all of the source references are listed in full. This can be ordered in a PDF version by contacting me at mhubble@btconnect.com.
If you wish to go into The National Records of Scotland personally, but do not feel confident in carrying out your own research, I can accompany you and assist you with this. Details can be supplied on request.
I have undertaken a great many commissions to trace Scottish family roots, producing personal family histories for clients at home and abroad. I am proud and delighted that a great number of my clients have stated that they look on their family history as a treasured heirloom which can be passed from generation to generation. Many satisfied clients have given the ultimate complement of returning to have other branches of their family traced.
I am often asked to complete research for clients who have an interest in one specific aspect of their Scottish family history and need some professional assistance. Having experience of a wide range of records, I have been able to assist with such enquiries. It may be that a client has come upon a "brick wall" in his own research. This is a common occurrence for many people and it may be that one particular area is hindering process. I will assist with this type of query.
Using my experience I will research your Scottish family tree to create an interesting and unusual presentation package, or a detailed standard report. Previous clients have commissioned a family history for retirement presents, anniversaries, special birthdays or for their own pleasure and information.
I am a professional Scottish genealogist and specialise in discovering your Scottish roots and Scottish descendants.
I look forward to creating your very own Scottish family history.
