My name is Margaret Hubble and I can assist you with the search into your ancestry. Genealogy has become increasingly popular, but many individuals have neither the time nor the necessary skills to carry out research themselves. You can feel confident in using my services as a professional genealogist in Scotland to assist you with tracing your Scottish family tree. As a member of ASGRA - the Association of Scottish Genealogists and Researchers in Archives - you may be assured of my competency and the fact that all members must adhere to a strict Code of Practice.

My research covers ALL AREAS OF SCOTLAND and I will provide a professional and friendly service.  (I can now also research ENGLISH FAMILY HISTORY.  Please contact me for further details.)

Client testimonial: A fascinating exercise carried out swiftly , with enthusiasm and expertise, even with a wee sense of humour by Margaret.  The amount of detail she gleaned paints a picture of our family.  Margaret demonstrates her expertise in accessing material beyond what I thought was going to be possible, so that a real in-depth overview of interesting forebears are captured and passed on.

I am based near Edinburgh, home of the National Records of Scotland, and I also have easy access to Glasgow City Archives, as well as repositories in other areas of Scotland.

I have traced family histories for clients in the UK and abroad. I am proud and delighted that a great number of my clients have stated that they look upon their family history as a treasured heirloom which can be passed from generation to generation. Many satisfied clients have given the ultimate compliment of returning to have other branches of their family tree traced.

I have also carried out research over several years for television programmes, (both in the UK and USA) such as "Who Do You Think You Are".  My most recent work has been on Lulu's episode, when my name was included in the credits.

I particularly enjoy researching the social history of families. Finding out the basic details of the family, such as births, deaths and marriages is obviously important, but to build a picture of the client's family's life throughout the years, adding flesh to the bones, is what I aim to achieve in my reports.

It may be that a client has come upon a "brick wall" in their own research.  I can assure you that I will leave no stone unturned in the search to solve the problem. I will visit other locations, if necessary, and treat your commission with the zeal and dedication that is my trademark.

Using my experience I will research your Scottish family history and produce either a detailed standard report or a fabulous presentation package. Previous clients have commissioned a family history for retirement presents, anniversaries, special birthdays or for their own interest.

I look forward to researching your very own Scottish family history and
