I am based near Edinburgh, home of the National Records of Scotland, and I also have easy access to Glasgow City Archives, as well as repositories in other areas of
Scotland.
I have traced family histories for clients in the UK
and abroad. I am proud and delighted that a great number of my clients have stated that they look upon their family history as a treasured heirloom which can be passed from generation to generation. Many satisfied clients have given the ultimate compliment of
returning to have other branches of their family tree traced.
I have also carried out research over
several years for television programmes, (both in the UK and USA) such as "Who Do You Think You Are". My most recent work has been on Lulu's episode, when my name was included
in the credits.
I particularly enjoy researching the social history of families. Finding out the basic details of the family, such as births, deaths and marriages is obviously important, but to
build a picture of the client's family's life throughout the years, adding flesh to the bones, is what I aim to achieve in my reports.
It may be that a client has come upon a
"brick wall" in their own research. I can assure you that
I will leave no stone unturned in the search to solve the problem. I will visit other locations, if necessary, and treat your commission with the zeal and dedication that is my trademark.
